The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 204-405 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, presses, and tooling fixtures where consistent, reliable spring force is required. Built from chromium alloy steel, this spring features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that delivers higher load capacity per unit of free length compared to round-wire designs. It has a free length of 1.25 inches (32 mm) and a rod diameter of 10 mm, making it a compact option for tooling applications with limited space. The blue color coding indicates its load classification within the standard die spring range. Installation is typically performed by toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance technicians working on stamping and forming equipment.
The 204-405 is designed for industrial tooling applications including metal stamping dies, injection molds, and punch-and-die sets used in manufacturing environments. Its 12 mm maximum deflection and a spring rate of 414.56 N/mm make it well suited for medium-load cycling applications where precise, repeatable force is critical. The spring conforms to ISO 10243 standards, making it interchangeable with other ISO 10243-compliant die springs of the same size and color classification across major tooling systems.
Conforms to ISO 10243 specifications for die springs. Compatible with any stamping die, press tool, or fixture designed to accept an ISO 10243 blue-series die spring with a 20 mm hole diameter, 10 mm rod diameter, and 32 mm free length.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or die maintenance technicians following the press or die manufacturer's service procedures. Always de-energize and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Inspect the spring pocket and rod for wear, burrs, or misalignment before installation, as these conditions accelerate spring fatigue. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 12 mm.
