The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 106-412 is an extra heavy-duty die spring designed for high-load stamping, forming, and tooling applications. It features a 3/4-inch hole diameter, 3/8-inch rod diameter, and a 3-inch free length. Constructed from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire profile, this spring delivers a spring rate of 405.00 pounds per inch and a maximum deflection load of 303.80 pounds at 0.75 inches of maximum deflection. The green color coding identifies it as an extra heavy-duty rating per standard die spring classification. Licensed toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance machinists are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for use in punch presses, stamping dies, injection molds, and other industrial tooling assemblies where consistent, high-force return action is required. Its trapezoidal wire cross-section increases the active coil material volume compared to round wire springs of the same envelope size, which supports the extra heavy-duty load rating. It fits standard die sets calling for a 3/4-inch hole and 3/8-inch rod configuration. Both production tooling shops and maintenance-and-repair operations use this spring as a direct replacement in existing die assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement die spring for industrial tooling assemblies requiring a 3/4-inch hole diameter, 3/8-inch rod diameter, and 3-inch free length in an extra heavy-duty green classification.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or maintenance technicians familiar with press tooling and die set assembly. Always de-energize and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Inspect the mating rod and housing bore for wear or surface damage before installing a replacement spring. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection of 0.75 inches during operation, as over-compression accelerates fatigue failure.
