The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 106-306 is an extra heavy-duty die spring engineered for high-load tooling and press applications. It features a 0.625-inch hole diameter, an 11/32-inch rod diameter, and a 1.5-inch free length. The trapezoidal wire shape provides a higher load capacity compared to round-wire springs of the same envelope size, making it well suited for demanding stamping, forming, and die-set environments. The spring rate is 370 lb per inch, with a maximum deflection load of 142.5 pounds over 0.38 inches of travel. The green color coding follows ISO standard die spring identification for extra heavy-duty duty rating.
This spring is used in metal stamping dies, punch press tooling, and injection mold assemblies where consistent, repeatable load and deflection are required. It is typically installed by tool-and-die machinists, mold makers, and press maintenance technicians in industrial manufacturing settings. The chromium alloy steel construction supports repeated compression cycles under heavy loads without significant set or fatigue. Applications include stripping, blank holding, and pad pressure functions within progressive and compound dies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for standard die spring pocket configurations requiring a 0.625-inch hole diameter and 11/32-inch rod diameter with a 1.5-inch free length in extra heavy-duty applications.
Die springs are installed by qualified tool-and-die or maintenance personnel with the press de-energized and all stored energy fully released before service. Verify that the spring pocket and guide rod dimensions match the hole diameter and rod diameter specifications before installation. Do not pre-compress beyond the rated maximum deflection of 0.38 inches, as exceeding this limit will reduce service life and may cause permanent set. Inspect mating tool components for burrs or misalignment that could cause uneven loading across the spring coil.
