The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 105-818 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and industrial tooling applications. It features a 2 inch hole diameter, a 1 inch rod diameter, and a free length of 4.5 inches. Constructed from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire shape, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 1,620 pounds and a maximum deflection of 1.35 inches. The gold color coding identifies it as a heavy-duty rated spring per industry standard color conventions. Licensed HVAC and mechanical tradespeople, toolroom machinists, and die maintenance technicians are the typical installers of this component.
This die spring is suited for high-load industrial press tooling environments where consistent spring force and dimensional precision are required. The trapezoidal wire cross-section provides greater load capacity per unit of compressed length compared to standard round wire springs, making it well-suited for heavy-duty stamping and forming dies with limited space envelopes. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both new tooling builds and replacement service in existing die sets.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation die spring for heavy-duty industrial stamping and punch press tooling requiring a 2 inch hole diameter, 1 inch rod diameter, and 4.5 inch free length envelope.
Die spring replacement and installation should be performed by qualified toolroom or maintenance personnel with the press fully de-energized, locked out, and tagged out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the die set bore and guide rod for wear or damage before installing the new spring. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 1.35 inches, as over-compression will reduce service life and may cause premature failure. Confirm hole diameter and rod diameter clearances match the die set specifications before assembly.
