The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 105-204 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for tooling and stamping applications where consistent, repeatable force is required under high-cycle conditions. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that allows higher load capacity within a compact envelope compared to round-wire springs. With a 0.5 inch hole diameter, a 9/32 inch rod diameter, and a 1 inch free length, this spring fits standard die sets and press tooling. Maximum deflection load is 70.8 pounds at 0.3 inches of travel, yielding a spring rate of 225 pounds per inch. Constructed from chromium alloy steel, it meets demanding industrial duty requirements and is finished in gold per heavy-duty classification.
This die spring is suited for use in metal stamping dies, injection molds, punch and die assemblies, and precision fixture applications across industrial manufacturing environments. Its compact 1 inch free length makes it appropriate for shallow die pockets where space is limited. The heavy-duty rating and gold color coding follow international die spring standards, making it straightforward to identify and specify for replacement or new tooling builds. Tooling engineers and die maintenance technicians are the primary installers and specifiers of this component.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-build component for standard die sets, punch and die assemblies, and precision industrial fixtures requiring a 0.5 inch hole diameter, 9/32 inch rod diameter, and 1 inch free length heavy-duty die spring.
Installation is performed by toolroom technicians or die maintenance personnel. Before servicing or replacing die springs, ensure the press is locked out and all stored energy in the tooling is fully released in accordance with applicable LOTO procedures. Verify that the pocket depth and rod clearance match the spring dimensions before seating. Do not compress the spring beyond the rated maximum deflection of 0.3 inches, as over-compression will reduce fatigue life and can cause premature failure.
