The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 105-107 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and tooling fixtures where consistent, repeatable force is required. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section, which delivers higher load capacity and longer fatigue life compared to standard round-wire springs of the same envelope size. With a 0.375-inch hole diameter, a 0.1875-inch rod diameter, and a 1.75-inch free length, this gold-color-coded spring falls into the light-load classification. Maximum deflection load is 44.1 pounds at 0.53 inches of travel, giving a spring rate of 75 pounds per inch. Manufactured from chromium alloy steel, it is suited for demanding industrial tooling environments.
This die spring is used in metal stamping and forming operations, injection mold tooling, and precision fixturing across light manufacturing and metalworking shops. The gold color coding allows quick identification of load class on the shop floor, reducing the chance of mismatched spring selection during tooling setup or maintenance. It is typically installed and serviced by tool-and-die makers, machine maintenance technicians, and manufacturing engineers working on press tooling and automated fixtures.
Designed as a standard die spring replacement for tooling applications requiring a 0.375-inch hole diameter and 1.75-inch free length in the light-load (gold) classification.
Die springs are installed and replaced by tool-and-die makers and maintenance technicians during scheduled tooling maintenance or upon visual inspection for set, cracking, or loss of load. Always de-energize and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Ensure the mating rod diameter and pocket bore are within spec before installation to prevent buckling or side loading. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as over-compression accelerates fatigue failure.
