The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 104-305 is a medium heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial machinery applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that delivers higher load capacity in a compact envelope compared to round-wire springs. The spring measures 0.625 inches in hole diameter, 0.344 inches in rod diameter, and 1.25 inches in free length. With a maximum deflection load of 99.4 pounds and a spring rate of 215 pounds per inch, it provides consistent, repeatable force across its usable stroke. Manufactured from chromium alloy steel, it resists fatigue and wear under high-cycle conditions typical in production tooling environments.
This die spring is suited for installation in stamping dies, injection mold assemblies, stripper plates, and other precision tooling where controlled compression force is required. The red color coding follows the ISO and industry-standard color convention for medium heavy-duty spring duty ratings, allowing toolmakers and maintenance technicians to identify duty class at a glance during die setup or service. It is installed by toolmakers, die setters, and mechanical maintenance professionals working in metal fabrication and manufacturing facilities.
Designed as a standard-dimension die spring suitable for stamping dies, mold tooling, and industrial machinery requiring a medium heavy-duty compression spring with a 0.625-inch hole diameter and 0.344-inch rod diameter.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers or die setters as part of die assembly or maintenance. Relieve all press and tooling load before removing or replacing springs, and confirm the rod diameter and hole diameter clearances match the die pocket dimensions before installation. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.46 inches during operation, as exceeding this limit will accelerate fatigue failure. Consult the press or die manufacturer specifications for preload and working deflection requirements appropriate to the application.
