The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 103-210 is a medium-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial machinery applications requiring consistent, repeatable force. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers a spring rate of 45 pounds per inch and a maximum deflection load of 56.3 pounds at 1.25 inches of travel. The 0.5 inch hole diameter and 0.28 inch rod diameter allow straightforward mounting on standard die posts. Color-coded blue for quick duty-rating identification in multi-spring tooling setups, it is installed and serviced by tool-and-die technicians and industrial maintenance professionals.
This die spring is suited for light-to-medium press and die applications where controlled compression force is required over a 2.5 inch free length. Typical installation scenarios include stripper plates, lifter assemblies, and component ejection systems in metal stamping and forming dies. The trapezoidal wire geometry provides higher load capacity per unit of space compared to round-wire springs of equivalent size, making it appropriate for space-constrained tooling where consistent stroke performance is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for medium-duty stamping die and press tooling assemblies requiring a 0.5 inch hole diameter, 0.28 inch rod diameter, and 2.5 inch free length.
Die springs are installed by tool-and-die technicians or qualified industrial maintenance personnel. De-energize and lock out the press before removing or installing any tooling components. Verify that the rod diameter and hole diameter of the mounting post match the spring specifications before seating the spring to prevent misalignment under load. Do not compress beyond the rated maximum deflection of 1.25 inches, as over-compression accelerates fatigue failure.
