The ASPEN CA48B3Z-195L-085 is an uncased evaporator coil rated for 3.5 to 4 ton nominal capacity, designed for residential and light commercial split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications. Built with rifled copper tubing and enhanced aluminum fins, this coil delivers efficient heat transfer in upflow and downflow configurations. The coil is compatible with next-generation low-GWP refrigerants R-454B and R-32, positioning it for systems transitioning away from R-410A. A check flowrator serves as the expansion device, providing reliable refrigerant metering across a range of operating conditions. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil as part of a matched system.
This coil is sized for residential and light commercial split systems requiring a 3.5 to 4 ton evaporator section. Its uncased design allows integration into existing or new air handler cabinets where the installer supplies the cabinet or casing. The upflow and downflow compatibility makes it adaptable to a variety of equipment orientations commonly found in utility closets, mechanical rooms, and attic installations. The 19.5-inch width and 21.5-inch height suit standard air handler cabinet openings in these configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style uncased evaporator coil replacement or new installation component for residential and light commercial split-system air conditioners and heat pumps using R-454B or R-32 refrigerant in the 3.5 to 4 ton capacity range.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician holding the appropriate EPA Section 608 certification for handling regulated refrigerants. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power and close the refrigerant service valves before opening the system. Verify the existing line set diameter matches the 3/8-inch liquid line and 7/8-inch suction line connections before installation. Follow the equipment manufacturer guidelines and applicable local mechanical codes when brazing connections and pressure-testing the system.
