The ASHLAND WATER GROUP TFV-125NL is a 1-1/4 inch brass foot valve rated at 200 psi, designed to maintain prime in suction lines by preventing backflow when a pump cycles off. It uses a spring-loaded poppet mechanism that holds a positive seal under varying pressure conditions. Compliant with lead-free laws, this valve is suited for potable water applications where material standards are required. Plumbers and pump system installers use this valve at the intake end of a suction pipe, typically submerged in a well, cistern, sump, or open water source.
This foot valve is commonly installed on shallow-well and deep-well jet pump systems, as well as transfer pump suction lines in residential and light commercial settings. It is positioned at the bottom of the suction pipe to keep the line flooded, reducing pump wear and eliminating the need to reprime after each shutdown. The lead-free brass construction makes it appropriate for use in drinking water systems where compliance with applicable plumbing codes is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation foot valve for 1-1/4 inch suction line piping in residential and light commercial pump systems.
Foot valves are installed by licensed plumbers at the submerged inlet end of a pump suction line. Shut off and lock out the pump before servicing any part of the suction assembly. Use appropriate thread sealant rated for potable water on all threaded connections. Installation should comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines for suction piping.
