The ASHCROFT B424V 60# is a watertight single setpoint pressure switch designed for industrial and commercial control applications where reliable pressure-actuated switching is required. Built with a 316 stainless steel wetted surface and an aluminum housing, this switch handles pressures up to 500 psi maximum setting and operates across a wide voltage range including 125, 250, and 480 volts AC as well as 30, 125, and 250 volts DC. The SPDT contact form gives installers flexibility for both normally open and normally closed circuit configurations. It is installed by licensed HVAC technicians, licensed plumbers, and industrial instrumentation professionals in systems handling air, water, oil, or food-grade media.
This pressure switch is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC systems, fluid control panels, pump protection circuits, and industrial process equipment where a watertight enclosure is required. Its adjustable setpoint and broad media compatibility make it a practical choice for OEM equipment builders and field service technicians alike. The 1/4 inch NPTF male thread connection provides a leak-resistant fit in standard port configurations. Operating temperature range of -20 degrees F to 150 degrees F covers most indoor mechanical room and light outdoor installation environments.
Rated for use with air, food, oil, and water media systems. Compatible with CLASS I DIV 1 GROUPS B, C, and D and CLASS II DIV 1 GROUPS E, F, and G hazardous location classifications per FM and UL listings. CSA certification number 14.0077X applies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed technician familiar with industrial pressure instrumentation and applicable electrical codes including the NEC. De-energize the circuit and depressurize the system fully before installing or removing the switch. Use appropriate thread sealant rated for the media type on the NPTF connection; do not overtighten, as the NPTF thread seals on the thread form itself. Verify setpoint adjustment and contact continuity with a multimeter before returning the system to service.
