The ASHCROFT 96229 is a process industrial pressure gauge designed for demanding commercial and industrial applications. It features a 4.5-inch analog dial with a range of 0 to 400 psi and delivers 0.5% of scale accuracy, making it suitable for precise pressure monitoring in process systems. The thermoplastic case resists corrosion and withstands harsh environmental conditions. Mounting is via a rear flange configuration with a 0.5-inch MNPT male connection. The lens is glass, providing clear dial visibility. This gauge is installed by licensed industrial pipefitters, HVAC mechanical contractors, and process technicians working on pressurized fluid or gas systems.
The ASHCROFT 96229 is suited for process piping, industrial fluid systems, and mechanical equipment rooms where a panel-mounted or wall-mounted pressure indicator is required. The rear flange mount allows flush or panel installation, keeping the gauge face accessible for routine readings without disturbing the process connection. It is a non-liquid-filled gauge, appropriate for applications where the process fluid does not produce excessive vibration or pulsation that would require dampening fluid.
Designed as an OEM-style or replacement process pressure gauge for industrial process piping and mechanical systems requiring a 0.5-inch MNPT rear-entry, rear flange-mounted analog gauge. Part of the Ashcroft Series 1279.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or mechanical technician following applicable local piping codes. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before threading the gauge into the process connection. Use appropriate thread sealant on the MNPT connection and hand-tighten before applying wrench torque to avoid cracking the thermoplastic case. Verify the process medium and pressure range are compatible with the gauge materials and rating before returning the system to service.
