The ASHCROFT 96222 is an analog pressure gauge designed for accurate pressure monitoring in industrial, mechanical, and trade service applications. It features a 4.5-inch dial for clear, at-a-distance readability and a thermoplastic case that resists corrosion and impact in demanding environments. The gauge covers a pressure range of 0 to 600 psi with an accuracy of 0.5 percent of scale, meeting the needs of HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters who require reliable pressure readings during system commissioning, leak testing, and routine maintenance. The rear flange mount allows secure panel or wall installation with the process connection entering from the back.
This gauge is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical systems where a panel-mounted, easy-to-read analog display is required. Typical applications include air compressor lines, water supply systems, hydronic heating systems, and general pressure monitoring on process piping. The 0.25-inch thread connection is standard for most trade fittings, and the non-liquid-filled design simplifies installation in environments where glycerin or silicone fill is not necessary or desired.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit gauge for panel-mount applications requiring a 4.5-inch dial, 0.25-inch rear thread connection, and 0 to 600 psi range in residential and commercial mechanical systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or pipefitters. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing any existing gauge or making new connections. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the 0.25-inch NPT connection and tighten to fitting manufacturer recommendations — do not overtighten thermoplastic-bodied gauges. Verify the system pressure range does not exceed the gauge maximum before returning the system to service.
