The ASHCROFT 94891 is an analog pressure gauge designed for monitoring system pressure in HVAC, plumbing, and industrial piping applications. It features a 2.5-inch dial face calibrated from 0 to 200 psi, a stainless steel case for durability in demanding environments, and a 1/4-inch NPT lower back mount connection for direct in-line or panel installation. Accuracy is rated at 1 percent of full scale, giving technicians a reliable local pressure reading without supplemental instrumentation. The gauge is not liquid-filled, making it suitable for clean-gas and dry-service applications where vibration dampening is not required.
This gauge is well suited for residential and light commercial service work where a compact, direct-mount pressure indicator is needed at a system tap, pump outlet, or pressure test port. The lower back mount orientation keeps the dial face visible when the gauge is installed on a vertical pipe or manifold panel. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters commonly use gauges of this type during startup, commissioning, and routine maintenance checks on water, air, and non-corrosive gas systems.
Designed as a standard 1/4-inch NPT lower back mount pressure gauge for use on water, air, and compatible non-corrosive gas systems in residential and commercial mechanical applications.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any pressure gauge. Apply thread sealant tape or compound rated for the service fluid to the NPT threads before threading the gauge into the port by hand, then snug with a wrench — avoid over-tightening, which can crack the gauge body or distort the socket. Verify there is no pressure in the line before loosening the connection for removal.
