It features a 3.5-inch dial face with a measurement range of 0 to 200 psi and a 1 percent of scale accuracy rating. The stainless steel case offers corrosion resistance in demanding environments. Mounting is via a lower 1/4-inch NPT threaded connection, making it compatible with standard pipe fittings used across HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The gauge is dry (non-liquid-filled), keeping the design straightforward for general-purpose use. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters regularly specify this type of gauge for pressure monitoring on system test points, manifolds, and service panels.
The ASHCROFT 94340 is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a reliable, easy-to-read panel or line-mounted pressure gauge is required. Common installations include boiler systems, air compressor lines, water supply lines, pump discharge lines, and HVAC refrigerant or hydronic system test ports. The lower mount NPT connection allows direct inline or panel installation using standard 1/4-inch NPT fittings widely available in plumbing and mechanical supply. No special adapters are required when the system uses standard NPT pipe threads.

Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or pipefitter. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing a pressure gauge. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads before installation, and tighten to hand-tight plus a controlled turn using a wrench — avoid over-tightening, which can crack the gauge socket or distort threads. Verify the gauge range is appropriate for the system operating pressure before placing the system back in service.
