The ASHCROFT 94243 is an analog pressure gauge designed for accurate pressure monitoring in demanding industrial and trade applications. It features a 3.5-inch dial and a measurement range of 0 to 5000 psi, with an accuracy rating of 1 percent of full scale. The stainless steel case provides corrosion resistance in harsh environments. It connects via a 1/4-inch NPT lower-mount fitting, making it straightforward to install on pipes, manifolds, and equipment ports. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors typically specify this gauge for high-pressure system monitoring and verification tasks.
This gauge is suited for residential and commercial applications where reliable pressure indication is required on water, hydraulic, steam, or process piping systems. The lower-mount configuration allows the gauge to sit upright on vertical pipe runs or equipment panels. The dry, non-liquid-filled construction keeps the assembly lightweight and is appropriate where vibration and pulsation are not primary concerns. It is commonly installed on test manifolds, pump discharge lines, and high-pressure supply systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install analog pressure gauge for systems with 1/4-inch NPT lower-mount gauge ports rated to 5000 psi or below.
A licensed plumber or mechanical technician should install this gauge following applicable IPC and local code requirements. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing any existing gauge or fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads and tighten by hand before using a wrench to avoid cross-threading. Do not exceed the rated 5000 psi maximum pressure on the gauge port.
