The ASHCROFT 83254 is an analog pressure gauge designed for monitoring system pressure in industrial, mechanical, and trade service applications. The gauge features a 3.5-inch dial with a 0 to 3,000 psi range, making it suitable for high-pressure plumbing, hydraulic, and compressed gas systems. It mounts via a 1/4-inch NPT center back connection to a pipe or manifold port. The stainless steel case provides corrosion resistance in demanding environments. Accuracy is rated at 1 percent of scale, which aligns with standard ASME Grade A performance expectations. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the typical installers for this type of gauge.
This gauge is well suited for residential and light commercial plumbing pressure checks, HVAC refrigerant line monitoring (where pressure range is appropriate), compressed air systems, and general industrial piping. The center back mount configuration positions the dial face forward when the gauge is threaded directly into a back-panel port or manifold fitting, keeping readouts visible and accessible. The dry, non-liquid-filled construction suits applications where vibration is not a primary concern.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install pressure gauge for piping systems, manifolds, and equipment panels requiring a 1/4-inch NPT center back mount connection and a 0 to 3,000 psi range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified mechanic. Depressurize and isolate the system fully before removing any existing gauge or installing this unit. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes. Do not exceed the rated maximum pressure of 3,000 psi, and avoid overtightening, which can damage the case or distort the bourdon tube.
