The ASHCROFT 83230 is a liquid-filled industrial pressure gauge designed for accurate pressure monitoring in demanding trade and industrial applications. It features a 3-1/2-inch analog dial with a range of 0 to 300 psi and delivers 1% of scale accuracy. The stainless steel case is grade 304/316 construction, and the Bourdon tube is 316 stainless steel, making it well suited for corrosive or high-cycle environments. A polycarbonate lens protects the dial face. The lower-mount, 1/4-inch NPT connection allows direct installation into pipework, manifolds, and equipment ports. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and industrial service professionals install this gauge to monitor system pressure in refrigeration, water, gas, and hydraulic circuits.
The 83230 is appropriate for residential and commercial mechanical systems where a durable, liquid-filled gauge is required. Liquid fill dampens needle vibration in high-pulsation or high-vibration environments, improving readability and extending service life. The lower-mount NPT connection suits panel, manifold, and direct-pipe installations. Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or pipefitter. Before installation, isolate and depressurize the system completely and verify the line medium is compatible with stainless steel wetted components. Use appropriate thread sealant on the NPT connection and tighten to fitting manufacturer guidelines — do not over-torque the gauge body. Verify the pressure range of the gauge does not exceed the system's maximum allowable working pressure before placing the system back in service.
