The ASHCROFT 83222 is an industrial analog pressure gauge designed for accurate pressure monitoring in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems. It features a 3.5-inch dial with a 0 to 150 psi range and delivers 1 percent of scale accuracy. The gauge uses a 316 stainless steel Bourdon tube and is housed in a 304/316 stainless steel case with a polycarbonate lens. The lower-mount, 1/4-inch NPT connection makes it straightforward to thread into standard fittings. It is a dry (non-liquid-filled) gauge suited for installations where vibration dampening is not required. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of instrument.
This gauge is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a reliable, readable pressure indication is needed on water, air, gas, or hydronic piping. Common install locations include boiler supply lines, compressed air systems, chiller circuits, and water service entry points. The 3.5-inch dial provides good readability in tight mechanical rooms. The stainless steel construction supports use in mildly corrosive or washdown environments, and the IP54 and IP65/NEMA 4 ratings confirm resistance to dust and water ingress.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and ASME B40.100 gauge installation guidelines. Depressurize and isolate the system before threading in or removing the gauge. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads — do not overtighten, as this can crack the socket or distort the Bourdon tube connection. For systems subject to pressure spikes or pulsation, consider adding a snubber fitting to protect gauge internals.
