The ASHCROFT 83221XLL is an analog pressure gauge built for accurate pressure monitoring across a compound range of 30 to 0 to 100 psi. The 3.5-inch dial provides clear, easy-to-read indication in the field. The stainless steel case and stainless steel wetted parts make this gauge well-suited for applications where moisture, corrosion, or harsh service conditions are a concern. Accuracy is rated at 1 percent of scale. This is a dry (no-fill) gauge with a lower mount configuration, accepting a 1/4-inch threaded connection. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors typically install gauges of this type on pipelines, vessels, and service equipment.
The 83221XLL is appropriate for residential and light commercial mechanical systems where compound pressure measurement is required — including refrigeration circuits, hydronic heating systems, and general plumbing service points. The compound range covering both vacuum and positive pressure makes it practical for evacuation verification and system charging diagnostics. The lower mount orientation positions the port at the bottom of the gauge body, which suits panel-mount and pipe-top installations commonly found in mechanical rooms and equipment closets.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation analog pressure gauge for mechanical systems requiring a 1/4-inch lower-mount connection and a compound 30-0-100 psi pressure range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified mechanical contractor. Isolate and depressurize the system completely before removing any existing gauge or making a new connection. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the 1/4-inch male threads per the fitting manufacturer and applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines. Do not use pliers or a pipe wrench directly on the gauge case — use a wrench on the hex fitting only to avoid distorting the case or internal movement.
