The ASHCROFT 83198 is a liquid-filled industrial pressure gauge designed for accurate, reliable pressure measurement in demanding trade and industrial applications. It features a 3.5-inch analog dial with a 0 to 160 psi range and a 1% of scale accuracy rating. The gauge mounts via a 1/4-inch NPT center back connection, making it straightforward to install inline or on pressure ports in piping systems. The stainless steel case and 316 stainless steel Bourdon tube provide corrosion resistance in wet, chemical-exposed, or harsh environments. The polycarbonate lens protects the dial face while maintaining readability. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and industrial service technicians are the primary installers.
This gauge is well suited for residential and commercial HVAC systems, plumbing pressure monitoring, hydraulic circuits, and general industrial fluid systems where a rugged, liquid-filled gauge is required. The liquid fill dampens needle vibration in high-pulsation applications, extending gauge service life and improving readability under dynamic conditions. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with pressure instrumentation. Shut off system pressure and depressurize the line completely before removing an existing gauge or installing this unit. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads in accordance with applicable plumbing codes before making up the connection. Do not over-tighten the threaded connection, as this may damage the gauge socket or fitting.
