The ASHCROFT 83196 is a liquid-filled industrial pressure gauge designed for accurate, reliable pressure monitoring in demanding service environments. It features a 3.5-inch analog dial with a 0 to 60 psi range and delivers 1 percent of scale accuracy. The center back mount configuration with a 1/4-inch NPT threaded connection suits panel-mounted and inline installations. The stainless steel case — 304 and 316 grades — combined with a polycarbonate lens provides corrosion resistance in wet or chemically aggressive locations. Liquid fill dampens needle vibration and protects the Bourdon tube mechanism during pressure surges. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and industrial technicians are the primary installers of this gauge.
The 83196 is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, HVAC hydronic circuits, compressed air lines, and general industrial fluid service where a compact, back-mount gauge is required. Its stainless steel 316 Bourdon tube handles both corrosive media and high-cycle applications. The gauge meets CRN, IP54, IP65/NEMA 4, PED, and RoHS standards, making it appropriate for installations that require documented compliance. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or qualified industrial mechanic. Isolate and depressurize the system completely before removing an existing gauge or threading in the new unit. Use PTFE thread tape or appropriate pipe sealant on the NPT threads and tighten with a wrench on the gauge fitting hex — do not apply torque through the case body. Verify the pressure range of the system does not exceed the 60 psi maximum rating of this gauge before placing it in service.
