The ASHCROFT 83170 is a liquid-filled industrial pressure gauge designed for accurate, real-time pressure monitoring in demanding trade and industrial applications. The gauge features a 3-1/2 inch analog dial with a 0 to 400 psi range and delivers 1% of scale accuracy. A 316 stainless steel Bourdon tube provides corrosion resistance, while the stainless steel case in 304/316 grade protects internal components. The polycarbonate lens offers impact and chemical resistance. Liquid fill dampens needle vibration and protects the movement from pulsating pressure spikes, extending service life in harsh environments. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance professionals commonly install this gauge type.
This gauge is suited for residential and commercial applications where reliable pressure indication is required on water, gas, hydraulic, or process piping systems. The 1/4 inch NPT lower-mount connection allows direct installation on pipe taps, manifolds, test ports, or equipment panels. The liquid-filled design makes it a practical choice for high-vibration environments such as pump discharge lines, compressor outlets, and boiler systems. Its stainless steel construction supports use in mildly corrosive or washdown environments where a standard steel-case gauge would be inadequate.

Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or qualified HVAC and industrial technicians. Isolate and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any pressure gauge. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the NPT threads in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes; do not overtighten, as this can crack the gauge socket. After installation, bring the system up to pressure gradually and inspect for leaks before returning the system to normal operation.
