The ASHCROFT 82117 is an analog vacuum pressure gauge designed for measuring negative pressure in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial service applications. It features a 2.5-inch dial face with a measurement range of 30 to 0 inHg (vacuum), making it suitable for monitoring suction-side pressure in fluid and gas systems. The stainless steel case offers corrosion resistance in demanding environments. Accuracy is rated at 1 percent of full scale, providing reliable readings for diagnostic and system monitoring tasks. The gauge mounts via a 0.25-inch NPT center back connection and is not liquid filled.
This gauge is used in residential and light commercial applications where vacuum or negative pressure readings are required. Typical installations include HVAC refrigeration evacuation monitoring, plumbing suction lines, vacuum systems, and process piping where a center back mount configuration is needed. The dry (non-liquid-filled) design keeps it suited for stable, low-vibration environments. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers and users of this gauge type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install gauge for systems requiring a 0.25-inch NPT center back mount vacuum gauge in the 30 to 0 inHg range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, plumber, or qualified mechanical contractor. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing the gauge. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the service medium to the NPT threads — do not overtighten, as stainless fittings can gall. Verify the system pressure range falls within the gauge rating before returning the system to service.
