The ASC Engineered Solutions EX1.BMT is a reducing pipe tee fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in gas, air, and water distribution systems. It features female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on all three ports and is rated at 150 lb working pressure. Constructed from black malleable iron, this fitting offers the ductility and impact resistance required in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC piping runs. The run ports are sized at 3/4 inch and the branch outlet is sized at 1 inch, allowing a larger branch line to be introduced into a smaller run. Domestically sourced, it meets the material and dimensional standards expected on commercial and industrial piping projects.
This reducing tee is suited for low-pressure gas piping, compressed air distribution, hydronic heating systems, and general water service applications. It is a common fitting in residential and light commercial mechanical rooms where a branch takeoff is needed at a different pipe diameter than the main run. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this fitting wherever a threaded black iron branch connection is required. The FNPT thread pattern accepts standard tapered pipe threads for a pressure-tight mechanical seal when assembled with the appropriate thread sealant or tape.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation threaded fitting compatible with standard 3/4 inch and 1 inch NPT black iron pipe systems used in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, IFGC requirements for gas piping, or IPC requirements for water service. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant compound or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium to all male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten first, then use a pipe wrench to achieve full thread engagement without over-torquing the fitting body.
