The ASC Engineered Solutions EXDXE.NMT is a malleable iron pipe reducing tee designed for threaded piping systems in commercial and residential applications. Manufactured to a 150 lb pressure rating with female NPT (FNPT) connections on all three ports, this fitting accepts a 3/4-inch run on the main line and reduces to a 1/2-inch branch outlet while maintaining a 3/4-inch through-run. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in both indoor and outdoor installations. This is a domestically produced fitting, making it suitable for projects where domestic manufacturing is a specification requirement. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This reducing tee is used in low-pressure threaded piping systems carrying gas, water, or air where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is required. Typical applications include residential and light commercial gas distribution piping, potable water supply lines, compressed air distribution, and hydronic heating systems. The FNPT thread pattern conforms to standard tapered pipe thread specifications, ensuring compatibility with standard threaded pipe and fittings across these system types.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 150 lb threaded malleable iron piping systems using FNPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing and mechanical codes, including IPC and IFGC requirements where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into an existing line or removing existing fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-tight engagement. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as the casting can crack under excessive torque.
