The ASC Engineered Solutions 500050026 is a black-finish coach screw, also known as a lag bolt, used to anchor pipe hangers, strut channel, and mechanical supports to wood framing or timber blocking. At 3/8 inch diameter and 3-1/2 inches in length, it provides a solid fastening point for threaded rod drops and bracket attachments common in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical rough-in work. The hex-head drive format allows installation with a standard socket wrench or impact driver. The black finish provides a uniform appearance where fasteners are visible in finished mechanical spaces.
This coach screw is used in commercial and residential mechanical installations where threaded rod hangers or pipe support brackets need to be anchored to wood structural members. Common applications include overhead pipe hangers, conduit support drops, duct hanger attachment points, and equipment mounting to wood blocking. It is a standard fastener stocked by trade contractors in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work.
Designed as a standard 3/8 inch lag bolt for use with pipe hanger assemblies, strut channel brackets, and threaded rod support systems anchored to wood structural members in mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical installations.
Installation is performed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and electricians during rough-in stages. A pilot hole sized appropriately for the wood species and fastener diameter should be drilled before driving to prevent splitting. Tighten with a socket wrench or impact driver to seat the hex head flush against the mounting bracket or hanger. Follow IPC, IMC, or NEC support spacing requirements as applicable to the system being supported.
