The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 390020865 is a FIG 7064 reducing branch tee designed for grooved end pipe systems. Fabricated from carbon steel and finished with a rust-inhibiting orange paint coating, this fitting transitions a 6-inch main run to a 2-inch MNPT branch outlet. It carries a SCH 40/STD schedule rating and features outside dimensions of 6.625 x 6.625 x 2.375 inches. At 26.4 pounds, this is a heavy-duty fitting suited for commercial and industrial mechanical piping installations where grooved coupling systems are the joining method of choice. Licensed pipefitters and mechanical contractors are the typical installers.
This reducing branch tee is used in grooved-end piping systems across commercial HVAC, fire protection, and industrial process piping applications. The grooved x grooved x MNPT end configuration allows it to connect directly to grooved pipe on the run ends while accepting a male pipe thread fitting on the branch outlet. The 6 x 6 x 2 inch nominal sizing makes it appropriate for large-diameter main distribution lines that require a reduced-diameter threaded branch takeoff.
Designed for use with grooved end pipe systems accepting SCH 40/STD wall pipe at 6-inch nominal on the run and 2-inch nominal MNPT on the branch outlet. Consult the grooved coupling manufacturer specifications to confirm coupling compatibility at the grooved ends.
Installation of this fitting should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before removing or installing any grooved fittings. Grooved end couplings are required at the run connections and must be selected for the pipe OD and schedule in use. Apply appropriate thread sealant to the MNPT branch outlet per local code requirements before threading in the branch fitting.
