The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 311019400 is a galvanized malleable iron street 90 elbow with a 1-1/4 inch female pipe thread (FPT) inlet and a 1 inch male pipe thread (MPT) outlet. This reducing street ell makes a 90-degree directional change in a threaded piping system while also stepping down the pipe size in a single fitting, eliminating the need for a separate reducer. The galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance for use in water, gas, and general-purpose piping applications. At 0.89 pounds, it is a compact, domestically produced fitting suited for both new construction and repair work. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers in commercial and residential settings.
This fitting is used wherever a threaded piping run requires a 90-degree turn combined with a one-size reduction from 1-1/4 inch to 1 inch pipe. Common install scenarios include supply and distribution piping in plumbing systems, compressed air lines, and low-pressure gas piping. The street configuration allows the MPT end to thread directly into another fitting, a valve, or a tee without requiring a nipple, saving space in tight rough-in areas. It is suitable for above-grade and indoor applications where threaded malleable iron fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 inch by 1 inch threaded malleable iron piping systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into or disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly and tighten fittings to hand-tight plus the number of turns recommended by the sealant manufacturer. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as cracking can occur.
