The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 310511803 is a 2.5-inch extra-heavy (XH) black malleable iron 45-degree elbow designed for threaded pipe systems in commercial and industrial plumbing applications. Manufactured to ASTM A-197 material standards with threads conforming to ASME B1.20.1, this fitting meets ASME B16.3 pressure rating specifications. Both end connections are female pipe thread (FPT), allowing direct connection to male-threaded pipe. At 5.51 pounds, the extra-heavy wall construction supports higher-pressure piping systems where standard-weight fittings are not rated for the application. UL and FM listings are included, making this fitting suitable for fire protection and other code-governed systems.
This elbow is used in commercial and industrial plumbing systems where a 45-degree directional change is needed in a 2.5-inch black iron pipe run. The black finish is standard for gas distribution, compressed air, and fire suppression piping. Extra-heavy strength rating makes it appropriate for elevated-pressure service conditions. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors typically install this fitting in new construction and retrofit piping projects. Its FPT x FPT configuration threads onto standard NPT male pipe ends without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2.5-inch NPT threaded black iron pipe systems in plumbing, mechanical, and fire suppression applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes, including the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local amendments. Depressurize and isolate the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before making up the connection. Do not use pipe wrenches on the fitting body in a way that could crack or distort the malleable iron casting.
