The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 300044203 is a black cast iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in commercial and residential plumbing and mechanical piping systems. The three-port configuration allows a main run of 1-1/2 inches to branch down to a 1-1/4 inch outlet, with the branch inlet accepting 1 inch pipe. Cast iron construction delivers the durability and thread-holding strength required in gas distribution, steam, and industrial fluid piping. The black coating provides corrosion resistance suitable for dry and semi-dry service environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for fittings of this type.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where multiple pipe sizes must be joined at a single tee junction. Common applications include gas distribution manifolds, fire protection dry-pipe systems, steam heating branches, compressed air headers, and general industrial fluid piping where a size transition at the branch or run is required. The fitting is domestically manufactured, making it a dependable choice for projects with domestic-content requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for threaded cast iron piping systems using NPT connections in 1-1/2 inch, 1 inch, and 1-1/4 inch pipe sizes.
Installation of threaded cast iron fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns for the pipe size per standard practice. Do not use pipe wrenches on the fitting body in a manner that could crack the cast iron; support the adjacent pipe to avoid placing bending stress on the fitting.
