The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 2X1.NMC is a malleable iron pipe reducing coupling designed to connect pipes of two different nominal sizes within a threaded piping system. It transitions from a 2-inch nominal female end to a 1-inch nominal female end, with both ports cut to FNPT (female national pipe taper) threads. Rated at 150 lb, this coupling handles standard working pressures common in water, gas, and general mechanical piping systems. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for exposed or moderately corrosive service environments. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on new construction or retrofit piping runs.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and commercial piping systems where a size reduction in the line is required without changing fitting orientation. Typical applications include water supply distribution, compressed air lines, natural gas distribution headers, and general industrial piping. The FNPT thread pattern mates with standard NPT male pipe ends, making it compatible with the broad range of schedule pipe and fittings used across trade work. Domestic manufacture supports project specifications requiring U.S.-made components.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 150 lb malleable iron threaded piping systems using 2-inch and 1-inch nominal NPT pipe.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC depending on the service fluid. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten; use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on the adjacent fitting to avoid stressing connected pipe or equipment.
