The ASC Engineered Solutions 2D.NML is a 90-degree malleable iron pipe elbow rated at 150 lb, designed to redirect piping runs in gas, water, and general plumbing systems. The fitting features female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on both ends for a standard threaded connection to Schedule 40 pipe. At 2-1/2 inches, this elbow handles mid-range pipe sizes commonly found in commercial and industrial piping assemblies. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for use in wet or exposed environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial applications where a 90-degree change of direction is needed in a threaded iron piping system. Typical installations include gas distribution headers, fire suppression supply lines, compressed air systems, and general water service piping. The 150 lb pressure rating meets standard service requirements for low-pressure steam, water, oil, and gas lines. Domestic manufacture supports project specifications requiring country-of-origin compliance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 2-1/2 inch threaded malleable iron piping systems rated at 150 lb service class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC or NFPA 54 requirements for gas service. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before making up the joint — do not apply sealant to the female threads of the fitting. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
