The ASC Engineered Solutions 1XE.NML is a reducing 90-degree pipe elbow designed for threaded piping systems in commercial and residential plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical applications. It transitions from a 1-inch female NPT inlet to a 3/4-inch female NPT outlet at a right angle, allowing directional changes and size reductions in a single fitting. Rated at 150 lb, the fitting is constructed from malleable iron with a hot-dip galvanized finish that provides corrosion resistance in damp or outdoor-adjacent installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This elbow is suited for low-pressure gas, water, and general-service piping where a 90-degree directional change and a one-size reduction are needed simultaneously. It is commonly used in supply lines, branch connections, and equipment drops in mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, and utility piping runs. The domestic manufacturing designation indicates U.S.-origin production, which is relevant for projects subject to Buy American requirements or job specifications mandating domestic fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard drop-in fitting for 1-inch by 3/4-inch FNPT threaded malleable iron piping systems rated at 150 lb service class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC provisions for threaded pipe assemblies. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-tight per standard practice. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
