The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 8700149258 is a welded steel pipe nipple with a hot-dipped galvanized finish, sized at 0.5 inches by 3 inches and manufactured to Schedule 40 standard wall thickness. It is designed for use in threaded pipe assemblies in water supply, gas distribution, and general industrial piping systems. The galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance for both indoor and outdoor installations. This nipple meets ASTM A/53 standards and is manufactured to contain no more than 0.25 percent weighted average lead content on wetted surfaces, making it suitable for potable water applications where low-lead compliance is required. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded pipe component. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as this can damage fitting threads or the nipple itself.
