The ASC Engineered Solutions 8700129458 is a hexagon black iron reducing bushing used to connect pipe runs of different diameters in threaded piping systems. The larger end is a 1-1/4 inch male thread and the smaller end is a 3/4 inch female thread. Cast from malleable black iron, this bushing delivers reliable performance in gas, air, and water distribution lines where ferrous fittings are required. It meets Federal Specification WW-P-471-B and conforms to ANSI B-16.14 dimensional standards and ANSI B-2.1 pipe thread specifications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both residential and commercial piping assemblies.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in low-pressure gas distribution, compressed air systems, fire protection supply lines, and general plumbing applications where a threaded step-down from 1-1/4 inch to 3/4 inch is required. The hex head design allows full torque with a standard pipe wrench or open-end wrench, making it practical for tight or inline installation scenarios in mechanical rooms, utility spaces, and overhead piping runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded malleable iron piping systems requiring a 1-1/4 inch to 3/4 inch reducing bushing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing and mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before makeup. Do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as excessive force can crack the casting.
