The ASC Engineered Solutions 810016212 is a 1/2-inch black malleable iron 90-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe assemblies in gas, air, and low-pressure fluid distribution systems. Malleable iron construction provides the ductility and strength needed to handle mechanical stress and vibration in working pipe systems. The street configuration means one end is a male (spigot) thread and the other is a female thread, allowing direct connection without a separate pipe nipple. At 0.20 pounds, it is a compact, standard-weight fitting suited for tight runs and close-coupled assemblies. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC-gas technicians routinely use these fittings during installation and retrofit work.
This fitting is appropriate for residential and light commercial applications where a 90-degree directional change is needed in a 1/2-inch threaded pipe run. Common uses include natural gas and propane distribution piping, compressed air lines, and steam or water systems within rated pressure and temperature limits. The black coating is standard for gas service applications and distinguishes these fittings from galvanized fittings used in water service. The street elbow configuration is especially useful where space is limited or where a fitting-to-fitting connection is preferred over adding a nipple.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for 1/2-inch NPT threaded pipe systems, including gas, air, and low-pressure fluid distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable codes such as the IFGC or IPC. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling or threading any fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten; hand-tight plus a few turns with a pipe wrench is standard practice for malleable iron fittings.
