The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 311010607 is a galvanized malleable iron reducing 90-degree elbow designed for threaded pipe systems in mechanical and plumbing applications. This domestically produced fitting steps down from a 2-inch inlet to a 1-inch outlet while making a 90-degree directional change in the run. The galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance in exposed or semi-exposed installations. At 1.45 pounds, the malleable iron construction offers the ductility and thread integrity that installers depend on in gas, air, and water piping systems.
This reducing elbow is used in residential and commercial piping systems where a direction change and pipe size reduction occur at the same point, eliminating the need for a separate reducing coupling and elbow. Typical applications include compressed air distribution, low-pressure gas lines, industrial process piping, and general plumbing rough-in work. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this fitting in situations where layout constraints demand a combined directional and size transition.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded malleable iron pipe systems in plumbing, gas, and mechanical piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC codes. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly, and tighten using a pipe wrench to achieve a leak-free connection. Do not over-torque, as malleable iron threads can be damaged by excessive force.
