The ARZEL ZONING TECHNOLOGY stksb-e-8x24 is an 8 x 24 inch EzySlide bottom-mount zoning damper designed for use in pneumatic HVAC zoning systems. This damper opens and closes using low-pressure air supplied by a medical-grade pump housed inside the zoning control panel. Pneumatic tubing connects the damper to the panel, and actuation requires no motors or gears, which contributes to long-term reliability. The bottom-mount configuration places the actuator along the longer dimension of the damper. Installation is straightforward: cut a hole in the metal duct, insert the damper, and fasten with screws. HVAC technicians and zoning installers are the primary trade for this component.
This damper is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC zoning applications where duct airflow must be controlled by zone. The insertable, retrofit-friendly design makes it appropriate for existing metal duct systems without requiring major duct modification. Arzel EzySlide dampers are the primary damper design used throughout Arzel Zoning systems. The motorless, pneumatic actuation method and position-insensitive design allow flexible placement within a duct layout. Where non-metal ductwork is present, sleeved damper versions are available separately.
Compatible with any Arzel Zoning control panel connected via pneumatic tubing. Designed for metal duct installations; sleeved damper variants are available for non-metal ductwork applications.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians familiar with zoning systems. Before cutting into an existing duct, shut down the air handler and confirm the system is de-energized. Cut the duct opening to the specified damper size, insert the damper, and secure with sheet metal screws. Connect pneumatic tubing from the damper actuator to the Arzel Zoning control panel per the panel manufacturer's instructions. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes during installation.
