The ARZEL ZONING TECHNOLOGY REG-4X12 is a rectangular zone damper designed for duct zoning installations where duct access is not available. Measuring 4 inches by 12 inches, the REG-4X12 installs directly into the boot beneath the floor register, eliminating the need to cut into or access the duct from another location. It is used to control airflow in individual zones as part of a complete zoning system. Licensed HVAC technicians performing zoning retrofits or new installations are the primary installers of this component.
The REG-4X12 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC zoning applications where floor-register-style supply outlets are in use. Because it mounts in the boot beneath the register rather than inside the duct run, it is especially useful in finished spaces, slab installations, or any situation where the supply duct is inaccessible after construction. This makes it a practical solution for zoning retrofits in existing homes without requiring demolition or major duct modification.
Works with any Arzel Zoning system. Designed as a boot-mount zone damper for use with floor registers in residential and light commercial HVAC zoning installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician as part of a complete zoning system setup. The air handler or furnace should be powered down before installing the damper in the register boot. Follow all local mechanical codes and the Arzel Zoning system wiring and control requirements when connecting the damper actuator to the zone controller. Do not force or bend the damper blade during installation, as this may affect sealing and airflow control.
