The ARROWHEAD BRASS PLUMBING 465-14QTLF is a 14-inch frost free yard hydrant built from lead free red brass for potable water applications. It accepts either a 1/2-inch female iron pipe (FIP) or 3/4-inch male pipe (MIP) connection, giving installers flexibility at rough-in. The integrated Arrow Breaker vacuum breaker provides backflow protection while delivering twice the flow of standard vacuum breaker designs with reduced operational noise. A one-piece bonnet with O-ring seal eliminates common leak points at the packing area, and the heavy-duty metal handle is secured with stainless steel screws for corrosion resistance in outdoor environments.
This hydrant is suited for residential and light commercial outdoor water supply installations where freeze protection is required. The 14-inch bury depth is appropriate for regions with moderate frost depth. Typical applications include irrigation service points, livestock watering stations, and general-purpose exterior hose bibs where the supply line must remain protected below the frost line during winter months. A licensed plumber or experienced trade installer is the typical end user for this product.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making any connections. The hydrant must be installed at the correct bury depth with a slight downward pitch toward the drain port so the standpipe drains fully after each use, which is critical to frost free operation. Do not install in locations where the drain port at the base of the hydrant will be submerged, as standing water will prevent proper drainage and defeat the frost free function.
