The ARROWHEAD BRASS PLUMBING 465-12QTLF is a frost-free yard hydrant built from red brass and rated lead free for potable water service. It accepts a 1/2 inch Female Iron Pipe inlet or a 3/4 inch Male Iron Pipe inlet and extends 12 inches into the ground to place the shut-off point below the frost line. An integrated vacuum breaker with Arrow Breaker technology delivers twice the flow of standard vacuum breakers while generating less operating noise. The one-piece bonnet uses a new O-ring seal design to eliminate drip-back leaks at the packing. Licensed plumbers and irrigation contractors install this hydrant in residential and light commercial applications where freeze protection is required at an exterior water point.
This hydrant is suited for exterior wall or in-ground installations where a reliable, self-draining water outlet is needed in climates subject to freezing temperatures. The 12 inch bury depth accommodates shallow frost lines and slab-mount or short standpipe configurations. The dual-inlet sizing — 1/2 inch FIP or 3/4 inch MIP — gives installers flexibility when tying into existing supply piping without an adapter fitting. The lead-free red brass construction makes it appropriate for installations governed by state and federal lead-free plumbing requirements, including those serving potable or hose-connected water supplies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation frost-free hydrant for residential and light commercial plumbing systems requiring a lead-free, self-draining exterior water outlet with 1/2 inch FIP or 3/4 inch MIP supply connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the applicable edition of the International Plumbing Code. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before making any threaded connections. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to all male threads before assembly and hand-tighten before applying wrench torque. Verify that the drain port at the valve seat is unobstructed and positioned above the gravel drainage bed to allow proper self-draining after each use.
