The ARROWHEAD BRASS PLUMBING 465-06QTLF is a frost-free yard hydrant built from red brass and rated lead free for potable water applications. It ships with a 6-inch bury depth and accepts either a 1/2-inch Female Iron Pipe (FIP) or a 3/4-inch Male Iron Pipe (MIP) connection, giving installers flexibility at the supply stub. An integrated vacuum breaker with Arrow Breaker technology delivers roughly twice the flow of standard vacuum breaker designs while producing less operating noise. The one-piece bonnet uses an O-ring seal to eliminate leak paths at the packing. Licensed plumbers and irrigation contractors install this hydrant in residential and light commercial outdoor water supply systems.
This hydrant is suited for outdoor installations where freeze protection is required. The 6-inch bury depth positions the drain valve below the frost line in many northern climate zones, automatically draining the barrel when the handle is closed to prevent ice damage. The heavy-duty metal handle is secured with stainless steel screws, resisting corrosion in exposed outdoor environments. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the supply water and relieve pressure in the line before making any connections. The hydrant must be installed at the correct bury depth so the drain port sits below the local frost line. Do not install in a location where the drain port may become submerged, as this can defeat the vacuum breaker and create a backflow hazard.
