The ARMACELL ARMA-BST25834 is a closed-cell elastomeric foam pipe insulation cover with a LapSeal self-sealing closure system. It is designed to insulate refrigeration and HVAC piping in commercial and industrial environments. With a 2-5/8 inch inside diameter, 3/4 inch wall thickness, and an R-value of 4.7, this cover delivers reliable thermal and vapor control across a wide operating range of -297 to 220 degrees F. The low-profile LapSeal seam keeps the longitudinal closure tight and flush, which reduces install time and is particularly useful in congested or hard-to-reach pipe runs. Licensed insulation mechanics and HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
This pipe cover is suited for refrigeration hot and cold lines, HVAC systems, exposed ceilings, air plenums, and exterior piping. It also sees use in industrial and mechanical rooms and in institutional buildings such as schools, universities, and hospitals. Each section ships in a 6-foot length and is sized for 2-1/2 inch copper tubing outside diameter. The black color and neat seam finish make it appropriate for exposed-ceiling and visible-install applications without additional cladding.
Sized for 2-1/2 inch outside diameter copper tubing with a 2-5/8 inch inside diameter and 3/4 inch wall thickness. Suitable for refrigeration lines, HVAC piping, and mechanical systems in residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial settings.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or certified insulation mechanics in accordance with local mechanical codes. Isolate and de-energize the system and allow piping to reach ambient temperature before applying insulation. Peel the liner tab fully before pressing the LapSeal seam closed to ensure a complete bond; do not stretch the foam during application. Butt joints at fittings and end connections should be sealed with a compatible elastomeric adhesive per the manufacturer's application guidelines.
