The ARMACELL ARMA-APT05834 is a flexible closed-cell elastomeric pipe insulation tube designed to control heat gain, prevent condensation, and reduce energy loss on mechanical piping systems. Each section measures 5/8 inch inner diameter with a 3/4 inch wall thickness and runs 6 feet in length. Cartons contain enough material to cover 144 linear feet of pipe run. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors install this product on refrigerant suction lines, chilled water piping, domestic cold water lines, and similar low-temperature or condensation-prone applications where bare pipe would sweat or lose thermal efficiency.
This pipe insulation suits residential and light commercial mechanical systems. It fits over copper, steel, and plastic piping with a 5/8 inch outer diameter, which corresponds to common 1/2 inch nominal copper tubing used in HVAC refrigerant and domestic plumbing installations. The 3/4 inch wall provides meaningful thermal resistance for typical ambient conditions found in unconditioned mechanical spaces, crawlspaces, and equipment rooms. The 144 linear feet per carton format supports larger jobs and reduces trip counts to the supply house.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation insulation for mechanical piping systems requiring a 5/8 inch inner diameter closed-cell elastomeric tube with 3/4 inch wall thickness.
HVAC technicians and plumbers typically install elastomeric pipe insulation as part of new construction or retrofit mechanical work in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1 and local energy codes. Slide sections over pipe before connections are made where possible, or slit lengthwise and use compatible contact adhesive at seams and butt joints to maintain a continuous vapor barrier. Ensure pipe surfaces are clean and dry before applying insulation to achieve a proper bond at any glued joints. Do not compress the insulation wall, as reducing wall thickness degrades thermal and condensation-control performance.
