The ARLINGTON WH1 is a 1/2-inch die-cast insulated knockout hub designed to protect conductors at conduit entry points in electrical enclosures and panels. The insulated throat prevents wire insulation damage at sharp metal edges, a common cause of insulation failure and ground faults. This fitting threads into standard 1/2-inch knockouts in junction boxes, pull boxes, load centers, and similar enclosures. Electricians install this hub during rough-in and trim-out phases wherever conduit or cable enters a metal enclosure and code compliance or workmanship standards require insulated protection at the knockout.
The WH1 is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work. It is typically installed at knockout openings in metal outlet boxes, panelboards, and enclosures where conductors are routed through conduit stubs or flexible conduit connections. The 1/2-inch trade size covers the most common knockout diameter encountered in standard residential panel and junction box installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit hub for use with 1/2-inch trade size knockouts in metal electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panelboards.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the enclosure and verify the absence of voltage before opening any panel or junction box. Thread the hub into the knockout by hand and tighten with appropriate pliers or a knockout hub wrench to ensure a secure, rattle-free fit. Do not overtighten die-cast fittings, as the body can crack under excessive torque.
