The ARLINGTON SG38A is a zinc die-cast saddle-type connector designed to secure aluminum and steel cable through a 1/2 inch knockout. It uses a spring set screw to hold the cable firmly in place and locks into the knockout with a zinc die-cast body. An insulated throat protects the cable at the point of entry. The connector supports a cable range of 0.405 to 0.612 inches with a 0.400 inch end stop diameter. When taped, it achieves a concrete-tight seal, making it suitable for demanding installation environments. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of conduit and cable wiring systems.
This connector is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring applications where aluminum or steel armored cable must terminate cleanly into an electrical enclosure, junction box, or panel knockout. The saddle design and spring set screw allow for secure, vibration-resistant cable retention. It is well suited for retrofit and new construction installations where a reliable, concrete-tight connection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1/2 inch knockout electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and panels used with aluminum or steel armored cable.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before beginning any connection work. Insert the connector into the 1/2 inch knockout and secure per manufacturer guidance; tape the fitting as required to achieve a concrete-tight seal. Do not overtighten the set screw, as the spring mechanism is designed to apply consistent holding force within the specified cable range.
