The ARLINGTON INDUSTRIES 830 is a 1/2 inch EMT compression coupling used to join two sections of electrical metallic tubing in a continuous, secure conduit run. Unlike set-screw style fittings, the compression design creates a watertight, raintight mechanical connection without relying on screw engagement alone. This coupling is suited for both indoor and outdoor installations where conduit integrity and moisture resistance matter. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of branch-circuit and feeder conduit systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications.
This coupling is designed for use with 1/2 inch EMT conduit and is appropriate for exposed or concealed conduit runs where a reliable, code-acceptable mechanical joint is required. Common installation scenarios include service entries, panel feeds, device-circuit rough-in, and exterior conduit runs on building facades or utility structures where raintight fittings are specified or preferred by the authority having jurisdiction.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit coupling for 1/2 inch electrical metallic tubing conduit systems.
De-energize all circuits and verify with a voltage tester before working on or near existing conduit. This fitting is installed by licensed electricians in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements for conduit fittings and mechanical continuity. Use a conduit reamer to deburr EMT ends before seating them into the coupling to avoid conductor insulation damage. Tighten the compression nut by hand first, then use an appropriate wrench to achieve a secure, watertight seat without over-torquing the fitting body.
