The ARLINGTON FSCB44 is a steel 4x4 electrical box designed for retrofit installation in concrete block walls. It accepts 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch knockouts to accommodate standard conduit entries. A built-in spring steel clip secures the box firmly against the wall surface as mounting screws are tightened, eliminating the need for additional fasteners into the block. The box provides 42.3 cubic inches of interior volume and supports both 4x4 single-gang and two-gang device screw hole patterns. Licensed electricians install this box when adding or upgrading wiring devices in existing masonry construction.
The FSCB44 is suited for retrofit electrical rough-in work in residential and light commercial concrete block construction. Typical applications include adding receptacles, switches, or low-voltage devices to existing CMU walls without cutting back to a stud or using anchor bolts. The spring clip design speeds installation in finished or occupied spaces where access is limited to the face of the wall.
Designed as an OEM-style retrofit electrical box for use with standard 4x4 and two-gang wiring devices in concrete block masonry walls.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage before beginning work. Cut the wall opening to the box dimensions, insert the FSCB44, and tighten the mounting screws to engage the spring steel clip against the interior wall surface. Do not overtighten screws to the point of deforming the clip or box ears.
