The ARLINGTON 1308 is a 4-inch by 3-inch reducing bushing used to adapt a larger-diameter conduit fitting or enclosure opening to accept a smaller-diameter conduit. Reducing bushings are standard hardware in electrical conduit systems, allowing installers to reuse existing knockouts and enclosures without enlarging or replacing them. This bushing is manufactured in red, which aids in visual identification during rough-in and inspection. Licensed electricians and low-voltage installers use this fitting during panel work, junction box assembly, and conduit runs where mixed conduit sizes are present.
This reducing bushing is suited for use in residential and commercial electrical installations wherever a 4-inch opening must be reduced to accept 3-inch conduit or fittings. Typical applications include service panels, pull boxes, junction boxes, and conduit bodies. The red finish provides a quick visual cue for size identification on job sites with multiple conduit sizes in use. It is appropriate for use in standard dry and damp-location conduit assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style reducing bushing for 4-inch to 3-inch conduit fittings and electrical enclosure knockouts in standard conduit installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the panel or enclosure before installing or adjusting any conduit fittings. Thread the bushing into the larger opening by hand first, then tighten with an appropriate conduit fitting wrench to ensure a secure, rattle-free fit. Do not over-tighten, as this may crack the bushing or damage the enclosure threads.
